B.R. Harne College of Engineering & Technology is managed by the Jai Shri. Siddhivinayak Foundation and good college.

Technical education system in India is on the verge of a big take off. With the modest size of just 38 degree level engineering institutions during pre-independence stage, we have now 3241 Engineering institutions admitting approximately 13 lakh students. Though, these figures seem big, but looking at the size of Indias population, it has still to be more.

Presently, the students in higher and technical education with reference to population in the same group are 6-7% whereas, in case of developed countries, it is above 80%. As India is planning to become super power by the year 2020, we have to provide more opportunities of higher education in general and technical education in particular as the nation aspires to be SUPER POWER on techno-economic front. Hence, we need at least equal number of engineering colleges to be added. Any region or state that comes forward has to be given opportunity because ultimately it is the nation that will be benefited with improved ration of engineers to the overall population of the nation.

AICTE has already thought of increasing this number. But, their concern is also the quality.

New institutions have to be centers of excellence and not merely the study centers. This demands the initiative on the part of organizations who have demonstrated their ability in past to establish top quality engineering colleges. Aim of Jai Shri. Siddhivinayak Foundation, Dombivali behind the establishment of the proposed institute is to help and to satisfy the need of technical education of state by providing a quality education and thereby generating globally acceptable human resources.
