Vivekananda Institute of Technology (VKIT) is one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka. Established in 1997, it is the one of the oldest engineering college in Bangalore. The students and alumni of VKIT are colloquially referred to as VKITians. VKIT has carved a niche for itself among the engineering college in the State, having been ranked consistently for its best technically education provider in the State.
Vivekananda Institute of Technology was initiated by Janatha Education society in its Silver Jubilee in providing the services to the society in the field of Technical education. Vivekananda Institute of Technology is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, approved by the All Indian Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and recognized by Government of Karnataka.
