ADMISSION CRITERIA

1) GNM - (3 1/2 Years)
2) B.Sc (Nursing) - (4 Years)
3) M.Sc (Nursing) - (2 Years)
               Medical Surgical Nursing
               Paediatric Nursing
               Community Health Nursing
               OBG Nursing
               Psychiatric Nursing

1. GNM:-

  1. Age :
      Must have completed 17 years at the time of admission.
   
  2. Eligibility :
      +2 / Pre-Degree with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology
   
  3. Marks :
      Pass mark in +2
   
  4. Should Submit the following certificates in Original :
      1. +2/Pre-degree mark sheet.
      2. Community Certificate.
      3. Transfer Certificate
      4. Conduct Certificate
      5. Passport Size Photos - 2
   
  5. Migration Certificate :-
      1. Candidates from other States will have to obtain a migration certificate from the concerned state.

2. B.Sc., (Nursing):-

  1. Age :
      Must have completed 17 years at the time of admission.
   
  2. Eligibility :
      +2 / Pre-Degree with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology
   
  3. Marks :
      Minimum 45%, Sc and ST – 40%
   
  4. Medical Fitness
   
  5. Should Submit the following certificates in Original :
      1. +2/Pre-degree mark sheet.
      2. Community Certificate.
      3. Transfer Certificate
      4. Conduct Certificate
      5. Passport Size Photos - 2
   
  6. Eligibility Certificates :-
      1. Candidates those who did any degree.
      2. Candidates from other states will have to obtain an eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, after
          admission.

3. M.Sc., (Nursing) :-

  1. Eligibility :-
      B.Sc., (N) with 1 year of teaching Experience in College or School of Nursing, after registration in State Nursing Council.
   
      Post Basic B.Sc., (N) - no need of teaching Experience.
      In case of male candidates they should have passed any other course recommended by Indian Nursing Council in the place of
      Midwifery.
   
      Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the Institution, a certificate of medical fitness from
      an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course and does not suffer from any
      disability or contagious diseases.
   
  2. Marks :
      Minimum 55%, Sc and ST - 50%
   
  3. Should Submit the following certificates in Original :
      1. Degree Certificate
      2. Transfer Certificate
      3. Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council RN, RM
      4. Teaching Experience certificate (School or College of Nursing or in Community Health Program)
      5. The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Eligibility Certificate
      6. Community Certificate
      7. Mark statements of I year to IV year
      8. Passport Size Photos – 4
   
       Note:
       1. The students of other state should register their RN and RM at The Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council, 140, Santhome
           High Road, (Near Santhome Church), Mylapore, Chennai.
       2. 4 set of Xerox copies of all the above certificates also should be submitted with due attestation of the Gazette officers.
   
  4. Eligibility Certificates :-
      Eligibility certificate shall be obtained from the Uuniversity by submitting all the above original certificates. In case of other state
      students migration and Tamilnadu State Nursing Council RN & RM should be submitted along with all other certificates.
