BMS Government First Grade College Huliyar, Tumkur

BMS Government First Grade College, Huliyar was established in the year 1992. The town did not have the competence of the university learning. The largely underprivileged sections convinced the Government, which is now the BMS Government First Grade College, Huliyar. This college has engraved its name in the entire district of Tumkur.

The college was housed in a small structure to begin with small primary school in a Huliyar then the contributions started showery in The donors who Sri Basappa, Sri. Marulappa and Sri Srinivasashetty have donated 5.8 acres of land quite big heartedly. Especially rooms of the present building, Government funds subsequently used for construction of remaining rooms. A new building is coming up in a land of about 5 acres which will be provided with good infrastructure and the college shall implement latest and best modes of knowledge transfer with intensive classroom coaching by reputed professors.

It comprising of 06 departments, which include 01 commerce and 2 languages course combinations, in addition to an integrated degree course. The College is affiliated to the University of Tumkur and is under the administrative control of Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka and University of Tumkur. Financial assistance is provided by the Government of Karnataka, the contribution from students, alumni and College development council

The students of the college have plenty of possibilities to express themselves and nurture their capabilities in order to become complete individuals. The college offers a platform for students for self-expression through various clubs and forums. The institution has History club, Legal aid club, Eco club, Career Guidance and Placement cell, Literary Forum, Counseling cell, Commerce and Management Forum and Economics forum.
