This is the largest co-educational institution in the state enrolling more than 3000 students every year. All the streams viz, Arts, Commerce, Science, B.C.A., B.B.A. are taught in this college. P.G. Programme in Geography is another attraction of this college.

The campus of the college is spread over an environmental friendly area of 24.375 acres which houses two seperate hostels for boys and girls and staff quarters apart from administrative block, lecture theatres, well equipped laboratories and an auditorium to carry out extra curricular activities. The college has rich library having collection of over 48,000 volumes.

The college is affiliated to the University of Jammu. It is covered under section 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act 1956. It has highly qualified staff on its faculty in different disciplines.
The college is accrediated with B+ grade by the National Assessment and Accrediation Council, Bangalore
