Government First Grade Women's College Vijayanagara, Mysore

Government First Grade College for Women, Vijayanagar, Mysore-18, had its humble beginning in June, 2005 with a strength of 45 students in a temporary rented building attached to a small private school in Vijayanagar, II Stage, Mysore.

Since then, the College has come a long way with its own set of problems and accomplished phenomenal growth. It has, no doubt, become a Women’s College to reckon with, 8 kilometers  away from  the prestigious Maharani’s College in Mysore, with a students’ strength of 547 in 2012-13.

The College caters to the needs of the under-privileged students living in Mysore as also at the periphery of Mysore. The college has its own building which houses the Principal’s Office, the Arts and Science Faculty, the Science laboratory and the Library for a students’ strength of 200 and the Commerce faculty is in a school building and has a students’ strength of 347.
