Government First Grade womens College, Chikkaballapur

Govt. First Grade College for Women, Chickaballapur is located having a land area of 17,615sq.ft established in the year 2009 with a purpose to provide Higher Education to Girls mainly from the Rural area. Previously it was a Municipal Grant in Aid Evening College and taken over by the Govt. in the Year 2009 and still facing the lack of basic infrastructure like Building (there is no properly built, spacious and sufficient Class rooms, Toilets, Spacious & Separate Library, Administrative office etc.), Drinking Water facility, Play Ground etc., Even after taken over by the Govt. the property belongs to this college(including land) is not totally handed over yet by the Local Municipal administration.

This College is situated in District head quarter and in around a distance of 40 KMs there is no other Govt. Woman’s College is available It is aEconomically backward bound region catering higher education. Empowerment of the students by inculcating in their minds the spirit of self-confidence, self-reliance and adaptability through education.Having a Vision, Mission and set of goals and learner focused provides various course combinations at UG level, B.A., B.Com and B.B.M. 

The existing Student-Teacher ratio is 81:1 It is affiliated to Bangalore University. It follows university designed curriculum. The institution supports students by providing scholarships for SC/ST, OBC/Other Minority and Meritorious students. Reflecting Vision, Mission and Goals the institution has formed various committees which will work in collaboration towards holistic development of the student. The IQAC committee in the institution monitors the quality of education extended from time to time. Because of insufficient number of class rooms we are conducting shift system classes for different courses & classes.Apart from Academic activities somecultural activities are also conducted.
