Purabi Das School of Information Technology (PDSIT) is established at Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (BESU). The University is situated about 6 Kms away from Howrah Railway Station and 8 Kms from Esplanade, beside Ganga, near Botanical Garden, Shibpur.

Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, one of the oldest engineering colleges in India is a premiere institute serving the nation for about one and a half centuries. The institute is proud of its glorious past, vibrant present and ambitious future. The college, currently a Deemed University, provides an ideal atmosphere of education to about 2000 students in under-graduate, post-graduate and non-engineering fields.
