The Smt. Maniben M. P. Shah College of Arts & Commerce is the first of the five Institutions for women run by the Seva Mandal Education Society (SMES). It was the foresight of the founder members to start this institution with just 7 students way back in 1957 and in the course of these years it has grown from a sprout to a huge tree from a single department to a multi faculty & multi dimensional institution.
