Due to change in our lifestyle and increasing in pollution, the demand for different kind of beauty products has also increased. In summer season everyone will begin to reach for the sunscreen, to protect the skin from harmful UV radiation or rays of the sun.

UV Radiation from the sun rays leads changes in many vital skin structures. There are three types, each with a different frequency. The first, UVA, has a long wavelength and penetrates deeply into the skin and induces permanent skin darkening, visible brown spots and tends to give a nice tan first and it can pass through cloud cover and windows. Reflective surface like snow and water increase the amount of UV radiation. UVB and UVC have shorter wavelengths that affect the top layers of the skin and tend to burn the skin. The damaged is principally caused by the combined action of UVB and UVA rays.

Changes in the Skin:

Sunburn is another common problem. The most devastating effect of exposure is developing skin cancer over time. But there is a many ways to protect skin from UV radiations and sunburn. Sunscreen and protective clothes can help you by protecting from harmful sun rays.

Sunscreen is formulated with unique chemical compound that forms invisible and protective layer against penetrating UV rays. Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is a measure of protection against UVB rays. This SPF numbers tells us how long we can last in the sun without being burned. Higher the SPF number, longer the protection. Persistent Pigment Darkening (PPD) is a measure of protection against UVA rays. Higher the PPD, lesser the skin darkening reaction.

Which sunscreen is best for you?
